I picked this one up the other day and thought it was very interesting . I did the best I could with the photos . I can't tell if this was mint damage or PMD . There's just no signs of damage around the error that would have caused it . I would like any input you would have .

95% sure it's PMD.
The one took a hit.

But there's an outside chance someone was thinking of making it a 1943.

I have to admit I feel your right about the PMD . I just can't put this one down . Just one of those things that makes you wonder what hit it to make it look like that . I'll call it " Altered date " .

Looks PMD to me. I think it was damaged by a coin counting/wrapping machine and then circulated for awhile.

Im 99.9% that it is PMD. You can see in the pictures where originally the one extended down to and the metal was pushed.
