i noticed mostly on the 2, WE and the last T of trust, and BERTY of liberty. there seems to be a spread but unable to detect noticeable lines/seperation.

Personaly I have a good idea of what it looks like without the white lines. And the 2 is clear as day to me. I think you should compare known DDO 72 and then decide from thereif its doubled die or machine. But id guess doubled of some sort based on date... maybe rpd or something?

Otbritt1 sorry I dont mean to criticize I'm not very good at pics myself but...
Based on the slightly blurry close up pics with all the shadows and light reflections I have to say I dont see the doubling and I agree with coop.

John Wexler tells about the different doubled dies of the 1972 on his site.

The 1972 year was plagued by bad master dies, and then, of course doubled dies.

I suggest going to this link, and FIRST, scroll ALL the way down and read the very last entry. That explains the history of the
die issues. If that doesn't explain your coin, maybe one of the other detailed descriptions may.

I personally don't see enough of a spread on anything to call it a Doubled Die. Typically the "T's" in Trust are a dead give away on most DDO's and I don't see much. I personally have cracked open two Mint Sealed 1972 5,000 count bags and have a decent amount of experience in the 1972 year.

Check out John Wexler's site, its got some great educational material !
