Hi everyone, so yes I found a Trade dollar, so my question is, I tried to look it up on internet but I can't seem to find to much information on this coin, it say 1873 Trade dollar but it does not have the olive branch on liberty she has what looks like a hat on end of stick, so just wondering if it's real or not, once I get home I can take a picture of it. Any info will help thanks.

From your description I'd say not real.

It sounds like a cross between a Trade dollar and a Seated dollar. An apparent fake/ fantasy piece. A picture would certainly shed all doubt. And, to CCF

Welcome to the CCF j93569 Yeah, a picture would confirm it's authenticity. Unfortunately, Trade dollars are a common counterfeited item coming out of China these days.

to the Forum!! We'd love to see pictures of your coin if you can post them. You can compare it to this coin and determine its authenticity, if you like. 1873 Trade Dollar

In 1873 the Mint went nuts creating fantasy designs and off-metal strikes for collectors. They were sold in sets of differing metals and designs. The coin pictured here is a replica of the Judd-1315 Pattern, easily identifiable as a reproduction by the reverse weaknesses in the center of the eagle and denticles. The overlapping reeding at 6:00 reverse, and the filled "O" in "OF" are also hints. Keep in mind, these were Proof strikes originally, with all the attention to strike detail one would expect of a regular-issue Proof. It's a fake, but a fascinating one. http://fakes.numismetrica.com/2012/...1-1873-0001/

It's still kind of neat though.

Cast fakes of this pattern coin are common and still selling for just over $2 apiece online - if this one is cast, it will not "ring" like a genuine silver coin.
This particular fake also seems to be lacking the punctuation dots after AMERICA(.) and GRAINS(.) and FINE(.) and DOLLAR(.) which are prominent on the reverse of genuine examples.
