I sent of a few coins into ANACS with one of their "Insider Specials" and opted for their Imaging Service for $3 per coin. I got the grading results back on Feb 21st and the images today, two weeks later. They are not quite what I expected, but not bad for the price. They are a lot smaller (averaging 150K in size and 700x960 pixels) than PCGS and are taken in the slabs. Here is one of them; 1865 CN3C Rotated & Clashed Dies Obverse Die Break ANACS AU53

I would have expected a closeup of the coin.

No doubt about PCGS Trueview, I just wanted to see how their service was. I may drop them a friendly critique.

Yeah, the photos of my 2 coins weren't that great. Color was way off. I sold one of the coins, and just took my own photos. But for $3 it's still a good buy.

Wow not even a pic before grading?
I honestly wouldnt pay 1 dollar for, I can do that with any camera. The close ups are the hard ones

I thought that it was a 180 degree turn, probably more like 175 degree.

$3 is reasonable for what you got, I'm just surprised that a lot of these grading companies still take pics with coin in the slab

 looks just under 180 degrees. Here is food for thought: you posted the pictures that ANACS sent, and they have been viewed by 100's, maybe 1000's of people  The pictures show the coin in the slab, basically a mini-advertisement for ANACS  |

Good point Fuzzy, I can agree that it is a good value for the product produced. I am still going to provide ANACS some positive feedback on their service and suggest a close-up option before encapsulation.
I can use the original "out of the slab" images, include these and send this little 3CN off to the market.

If what you opted for was a picture of the plastic slab, it's accurate. If it is supposed to be a picture of the coin, they pooched it.

For those not wanting to take their time to get a slab pic "just right", $3 isn't bad. I plan on sending ANACS some less expensive world coins, I will not be opting for the photos. I feel I can do a better job myself (and have in the past).
