Sent a package first class insured, w/signature confirmation on 2/28. It only had to go 250 miles from NY to NJ. Left Syracuse on March 1st, and no tracking available after that. Estimated delivery was on 3/3. Really hoping it gets there tomorrow or Friday. Is it tough to collect insurance on coins?

I hope it shows up. The estimated delivery date is only an estimate. Insured can/will add to that estimate.
Rest in Peace

I've had many a coin mailed to me with tracking and there were literally no updates until it arrived at my local Post Office. I wouldn't sweat it.

I've had the same experience as Dave many times. No tracking until it was recorded as delivered. I never had one get lost.

OK, thanks for the encouragement. The last thing I want to do is deal with the insurance thing. USPS has never "lost" one on me 'yet.' 2 months ago it took more than 3 weeks for an envelope to go across country. I had already refunded the buyer, and he wrote me a check when it finally arrived.

You can have your post office run an internal check on the tracking number if you go down there with it and are really worried about it

Yeah, I didn't mention that I had them do that the last 2 days, and they didn't come up with anything more than was showing on the basic tracking. Maybe I have a little more reason to be nervous ugh.

and no tracking available after that.

Experience that all the time. You wonder what you are paying for sometimes

But then again, just go to any post office.

Day 6 and counting. Let's look at the bright side, in 15 days I can 'attempt' to cash in on the insurance policy

Sometimes the barcode hasn't been properly printed out so it can't be scanned.

Hey, I just got some excellent news. The package is alive and kicking and just passed through a sorting facility 45 miles away from it's final destiny. Does it sometimes seem like everything gets delivered on a Friday no matter when you send it? Gosh, I feel much better now.
