AU/MS details, looks like possibly an old cleaning. Is there any cartwheel luster or are the surfaces dead?

It cartwheels, though somewhat dull.

I'd have to call it AU then. Personally, I'd send it to PCGS and let them decide the grade and if it's been altered, well worth the cost IMO.
Some coins can be very tricky and I like putting NGC and PCGS on the spot. I have a beautiful 1918-S that I just couldn't decide on, rather than suffer, I sent it to NGC and I know they struggled - it came back AU-58. LOL

I'm gonna say AU55 details. I looks like it was cleaned but the tiny pits or hairline scratches held the original dirt? Does that make sense? Even some of the letters on the obverse seem to have crud in the deepest corners.
