Just for fun--if you enjoy attributing varieties.
This was given a Snow # by Anacs, but which one?
I think there's enough info here to make a positive ID.
Have fun!

With the narrow bust, we know that is an 'L'. I have to agree with Waxemm that it mostly closely resembles S18 but that is just an educated guess.? Either the coin is too worn or my eyesight is too poor to make a definite attribution.

it's pretty worn...but there's enough detail (including date position) to make a positive ID?
I'll post my opinion in a couple hours--I didn't agree w/Anacs attribution.

I was looking at the top loop of the 8 and the lines in denticles, but it is really hard to see with such little details. It resembles the S-20 as well, but geesh.

The last time I changed my mind on an attribution I talked my self out of the right answer, so here I go again. I am going to go with S2a. I don't see all the diagnostics, but the date position is right. There is also supposed to be a heavy die scratch in the denticles below the 4. The denticles are worn but I believe I still can see the top of the scratch. The only thing I can't see is any of the repunching of the date.

That's mostly what I'm basing my attribution on, as well as some very faint confirming details (below) such as the tilted base of the 1.
Update--Beaglebailey clinched it with the die scratch. I should apologize, as this one was really vague--I would never buy a coin on these markers! What got me started on this one was the attribution on the ANACS holder--it's certainly not the 64-L Snow-1. And the grade doesn't make G4 either.

Well, when I first looked at all the varieties I had considered S2 but because I could not see all the diagnostics I discounted it. Then when you hinted about the date position I took another look at S2, reread the description about the die scratch in the denticles, and realized that S2 was the only variety that could fit. I really don't know how ANACS came up with S-1. Very interesting challenge. Thanks for posting.

Oh right--the die scratch is still pretty evident--good call!
