I have an option for either of these at current spot price. (The are in almost perfect shape, but not slabbed/graded).

I am guessing the price is right (no premium). Between the two, which would be the better selection for resale (long term)?

I personally would get the gold Britannia. The mintages on the early gold Britannia 1oz coins are ridiculously low and are hard to verify. I think Krause has the 1987 at about 2500 as compared to the 800,500 1988 GML that were minted.

However while they both contain 1oz of gold, the Britannias are 22kt gold and the rest being copper. The Maple Leafs are 24kt .9999 fine gold.

I would go with the low mintage numbers of the Britannia.

Id go with the Britannia too. Theres a much better chance of finding a gold maple again at spot than there is of finding another Britannia
