Ikes - Is The Die Hammer Anvil Collar More ..........

Question for anyone.

IKEs - Is the die ... hammer anvil collar, more subject to faster, more catastrophic failures, than say smaller or Silver coins in general?

Does Ikes come under the most heavy pressure to press?

Ikes are large ... and Copper-Nickel is surely harder than Silver, or Gold.

I personally would love to see a really bad failure.

I love ikes ... I love ERROR coins.

Yes they are coined at a higher pressure. For a given alloy the larger the diameter the higher the coining pressure. The last figures I saw had dimes at around 35 tons per square inch, quarters and SBA's at around 75, halves at 90 to 100, and Ike dollars around 120 tons.
