I may be one of the few who concentrates on modern commemorative coins and sets. I think that if there are enough commemorative collectors, a forum topic of "U.S. Commemoratives" would be great. Is there enough interest it that topic, I don't know, but would like for it to be discussed by the forum staff, since they would know if it is worthwhile or not. This would be for slabbed and raw items. Thanks for listening to me.

As a worldcollector I only collect those coins who are intended to circulate. The US nickels. Presidential dollars and state-quarters I do collect, sometimes even a commemorative half-dollar, but blisters or boxed thingies I do not mind of not obtaining them at all.

I think that it would be a great forum. I like them, although I don't have many. I think the fact that they compromise quite a bit of the RedBook tells me that they are a pretty heavily collected item. I think their own forum would be neat, and I would certainly visit often!!!

I also believe there should be enough of "us" :) commemorative collectors for a "U.S. Commemoratives" forum topic. I started with world commemoratives, but I had a taste of the latest US commemmoratives recently, and I'm hooked! There's also a new magazine, "Worldwide coins", starting in September I believe, that will focus on commemorative issues. I sure hope they include the US coins!

Done, new forum here!

For now, US and World Commemoratives will share the same forum. If When they earn the right to be split we'll split 'em.

I would like to move existing Commemorative topics here, so if you see one in your travels in a different forum, please hit the report button in the first post and put a note that says "Hey Dummy! This belongs in the Commemorative forum" or something to that effect.

Forum Dad,

Thanks for the Commemorative Coin thread. I am sure that it will do very well, since I think that many collector's poo and pah the commemoratives, but in their hearts they like, want and buy the coins. It is the same as with the anti-slab collector's, I asked in one thread how many collector's did not own a single slab, never had anyone own up to that. So, I equate/compare that with the commemorative coins section and it shall do very well.,
Thanks again Dad,

Berry
