Wait. I'm going to say... Vermont! Look to the right of the last digit of the date and tell me what you see. I'm going to bed!

OK:) I must be blind as a bat with out radar. Not sure what you guys are seeing but here are some axial lighted pics I took before the acetone bath. Hope these pics help confirm an overstrike. That would be cool! Edit below: New Pic:) Hopefully more helpful. I will also try to re-shoot the coin.

Easier to see on the first pics. What I think you can best see (and what I assume Vinnie was seeing) is the row of mail segments along the shoulder of the bust, just beneath NOVA. They weren't matching any Connecticut right busts for me, but a number of Vermont busts have a row of shorter and squarer segments. Now I'm worried I was just looking at PMD.

The funny thing about NJ's is that I have been buying them like crazy lately. I originally wanted to buy my first about 5 years ago. I found 1 slabbed at a local flea market for like $450 so I passed. Since then I found a few here and there in the neighborhood of $150-200. Eventually I bought my first via CL and the seller turned out to be a huge C4 guy who introduced me to a local coin club and the rest is history. Now that I know where to look, I have been "stealing" these at half their value. I even grabbed an R5 for $100! They are easy to attribute and there is no shortage of sellers or buyers.
