While the weather is still cold is a good time to sell.
Summer is bad as many go on vacations.
No matter what you take your chances.
I bought a high value coin in August and had NO competition.

Who gets holidays then? Mostly students with little income. I doubt you'd notice a drop in business. Maybe a few teachers off work will check out ebay for a couple of days.

It's as good a time as any during spring break.

Agree with comments about avoiding summer. That's when I plumped up my ICCS large cents collection.
