Is there a way to see the prices in U.S. dollars? Thanks

Hi John

A lot of the silvers have finished now but worth keeping an eye as there are some bundles finishing in a few days and some really nice coins on there

I think, if you go through ebay.com rather than ebay.co.uk, on the left you should have an option on the left for 'worldwide', if you find the seller using this, is should show you in the US view.

try this link I got by using that method

Not a seller I have had dealings with yet, though I do have an idea who it may be. I would be a little on the cautious side with him putting this under the listing :-

'Please note that I am not accepting returns on this item so sold as seen - your bidding on this item means you accept these terms'

Having said that, if someone does buy them and they are not as described you can still send them back for a full refund (less postage) - there are a lot of very good examples of silver coins around at the moment that won't break the bank and the condition is better than on these so probably worth looking round a bit first.

Personally, as a large ebay seller myself, I can understand the 'sold as seen-no returns' even from a genuine seller. (Although I personally have to accept returns as a business seller and bend over backwards to keep perfect feedback)

Because once in a while you get a ridiculous buyer, someone who you are not sure if are completely deluded, or are just plain nasty. It would be nice if I could put this on my listings :)

I think what was written there is more of an after effect of bad experiences with buyers, like you stated, if they turned out fake... or not as described, then you can return with any seller via ebay buyer protection.

I personally feel more comfortable buying Gold that silver romans, not sure why, maybe through my lack of knowledge.

The reason mainly I flagged these is because all of the Romans they have do not have ID's, and are being sold at about the same price. This tells me that they don't know one coin from another. So if there was a 'gooden' or a rare one in there, it could be a good prices pick up for someone here.

Silly question Met, but as a serious detectorist (I am assuming you are), do you have any tips? I have been doing it a little, but haven't found a single coin yet!! how often do you find something interesting? I have probably done about 15 hours of detecting and have only found one thing other than scrap or nails!!

I see a number of items that IMO are out right fakes. Though the Romans do appear to be real. Still I don't think I would take a chance and buy from this seller.

Unfortunately there are a fair amount of time wasting buyers around, Masis has a really good thread going atm about it.

For detecting tips head over to the detecting section, loads of serious searchers there that can offer you excellent advice.

Personally, I have been fairly lucky both with permissions available and also with finds. I found myself a nice siliqua that I posted recently and though not a rare item its in the top ten finds for me as its the first one I have dug.

Probably one of the best things to do is find a club that does the leg work for you. They will help you out with setting up your machine as well as arrange group searches and these can sometimes be a superb laugh as well as good experience.
