Trying to figure out what I actually have here. I took pictures with phone and a magnifying lens I tried my best to get clear pictures open to help on getting pictures like some else posted. Thanks in advance !
This was my fear due to the fact the head and lettering are backwards. I just didn't know if 2 coins could indent into each other or if they would just go smooth. :(
The dead give away is that the rims cut into the sandwiched coin. If it were a double strike, the rim would not appear making the groove in the coin. You see the edge of the die making a mark on the second strike. Not the rim formed making an indent into the coin. Note on all these images the double letters are not mirrored also. On a vise job this is not the case:
Not the news I really wanted but thanks very informative for a rookie like myself. Only about 30,000 more coins to figure out the rarities and errors. Any advice on how you guys are getting the super clean zoom up photos ?
