1879-P Morgan... Missing Hair Below Designer's Initials?

Bear with me, I'm still learning......

While looking for VAM's, I noticed that this 1878-P is totally missing the hair curls at the very end, below the designer's initials. The closest Obverse Type I can find is a I1, but was only used on 1878's?

Any info would be appreciated!!

It looks to me like an overpolished die, but VAM's are not my area of expertise. Hopefully, someone else will come along and have an answer for you.
