Um, it's fake? For me the only red flag is that it looks far too uncirculated and lustrous for a F-15. I would've expected a coin so pretty to get a XF grade or higher.
(The fakest Morgan I've ever seen, coincidentally, was a wrong-sized 1937 in some dealer's inventory at the Taganka market. I would've bought it but he wanted $15 for it, which was about an order of magnitude more than I wanted to pay.)

The number matches PCGS's database, but the coin and slab fonts don't. Definitely a Chinese counterfeit slab and coin.

Wow snatch it up because it's such a good deal! That's like selling a car from 1950 that was "accidentally" labeled as being 1990.

Definitely a chinese fake. Besides the obvious already noted, the date position is wrong. Reported.

Another thing to note about the fake Morgans from this particular counterfeiter is the absence of cartwheel luster on the coins. We saw this on the group of CC Morgans that a new member purchased last year. https://goccf.com/t/161173&whichpag...=counterfeit

@dave700x That was a really interesting thread, quite the read I must say. Scary to imagine what percentage of coins are counterfeit, in collections and circulating.
In the UK we have an epidemic of fake £1.00 coins circulating about 2.5-5.0% approx of all £1.00 coins, which is a massive amount of money falsely inflating our market. I just wonder how banks and my government make sense of more money in circulation than what has been minted-makes you wonder....

Here's one final bit of proof for eBay--the real slabbed coin, sold by this dealer
