LCD willing to buy Ikes at face & ........
I have recently used 2 LCD to dump Ikes.
True ... they will pay only face. But I culled what I wanted!
And ... They both told me they DO sell Ikes in the store. One dealer told me he had one customer who paid $1.10 and took ALL coins in the back room Ike dump bin, on the basis that the amount was at least 500 Ikes.
Good deal for every one. I get a dump, dealer gets a fast $50 profit (per 500 coins). And I might add, there is no down side risk on the dealers ike investment.
I personally am glad to see any LCD getting active with Ikes.
It might take many decades for Ikes to be really valuable ... but I am having a ball with them now.

Quote: I sure wish I could order Ikes... I've been asking around but so far no luck. Keep trying. It took me many many months to get a source. And it does not arrive on a certain scheduled. I must have cash in hand, on an immediate pick-up. (It will be gone to someone else on a 24 hour basis). I only mention this as I am on a tight budget. That is why I DUMP ... as to keep my cash at the ready ... for a fresh bag. As for getting a source. Try every bank with in your driving range. Offer to switch your banking business to a new bank. (Business = checking, retirement, loans etc.) Up front ... TELL the bank you swear to NEVER use the (source) bank as a DUMP! This activity is a costly service. And the Ikes are a pain to handle. Big Time! Tell her you have a DUMP and give her/him the name of your LCD. Talk directly to the MANAGER, of the bank. Do not call anyone on the phone. Go to the source and wait to visit. NEVER NEVER complain about the bag. For instance ... maybe there is a small breach in the bag. Well ... you know a Peace-Morgan dollar "MIGHT" have been removed ... (STOLEN). Just take it like a man ... and keep your SOURCE. Be "nice" to your source bank. Donuts anyone? I personally give Arrowheads. He loves 'em. Hope this helps.

Sounds like a win-win-win. You get to dump them, the dealer gets to sell them, and the dollars find a willing home instead of the cold vault of some bank.

Then he will stop buying and the LCD will probably stop buying.

Might be for a sales campaign give away? Decades and decades ago ... I bought Morgans for $1.15 ... and gave them away with a $10 purchase. That was better for me than a 20% discount !! My guess is the coins I bought ... then searched ... then sold to the LCD ... had been SEARCHED many times before. But who can say?

Quote: Respectfully speaking......... Domain........I wasn't wishing you ill-will (should I have put a smiley face after my comments?), I was just preparing you for a likely senario Poll 50 people going into an LCS to buy a hoard of coins and ill bet that 49 of them are buying them in hopes of finding silver, the odd proof put into circulation or other valuable coins. Who here, is a bigger Ike fan than you,(maybe jbuck), and even you don't buy bags for any other reason than to cherry pick, not to hoard every one. Hope this guy is the #1 hoarder out of the fifty Maybe you should leave a silver or a proof in the bag every one in a while, just to keep him coming back

I might try this just to search for some of the rarer types. Worst case scenario, I pay $100 for a bag (or whatever they come in) and I go pay my water bill with them. They'll love that, and deserve it!

I take out the silver first (if any) Best haul in 1 bag was 5 AU items. Worst was zippo. Then I save all ERROR coins. There is no question in my mind that more traditional collectors are dumping errors. Then I save all TONED coins! The deeper the tone the better. I do not save (common) BLOTCHY toned coins. Ugly. Then I save all Type 1 Bicentennial. And all 1972 (P) After than I cap my limited capital with up grades regarding condition, on all coins. Thanks to CCF, and the different sites, one can get finer, ideas about real MS grades. Last 500 I DUMPED were all AU-BU. Sold them to a LCD; and he remarked those coins don't look to bad! Where are the greasers? We, (my wife and I) do spend ikes ... but in good faith to buy stuff. And with no to harm the receiver of Ikes.

My limited financial condition only allows me a small number of coins. As far as cherry picking ... ...Ebay buyers pay up to (about) $1,300 for an un-searched bag.
