Hello everyone,

Can anyone tell me anything about this? It's a small 'silver' coin, 23mm dia, 5.3g.

What-Is-This?

What-Is-This?

I've had it in a tin with a variety of other coins for about 35 years now and thought it about time I try to find something out about it.

Thanks in advance.

It looks like this 1914 EGYPT 1 QIRSH COIN Old Abdul Hamid 2nd coin, with a few date differences. The numeral on the bottom gave me 1293 but that's not the age of the coin, not sure how that works.

Here's a link to a similar coin-http://www.etsy.com/au/transaction/100552479

Welcome too Coin Community.

The bottom numeral of 1293 is the Islamic year of ascension of Ottoman Sultan Abdulhamid II. The number at the top, 29 is the year of his reign. So, 1903:

Yeah I'm sure it's a 1 qirsh coin Egyptian, 1903 and composition copper-nickel. Here is a link to the coin specifics- http://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces5871.html so the Arabic numerals on the bottom are 1293 and at the top are 29 meaning 1903. I cannot read Arabic so I'm not sure what it reads unfortunately, but maybe someone on here knows more. :D
