I bought some junk silver quarters the other day and I found this. It seems to weigh near what its normal counterpart does but looks odd.

I dont think its a fake. I think its either a error or someone did this intentionally which I see as being odd.

Im hoping the real experts here could tell me.

From this pic, it looks like it was a Dryer Coin or possibly spooned.

Wow this is new for me. I looked it up and I think you guys are right. I am already learning new stuff here. You wouldnt believe what this fast talking gold and silver guy told me about it.

" oh yeah thats a defect...they go for $30 on ebay..."

Good thing I knew he was lying but still interesting how this happens to a silver coin.

Won't be trying it with any american eagles thats for sure.

Looks like some one spooned the edge of the quarter trying to make a silver ring. But gave up.

He may not be lying, he may just not know what he is talking about.

And he could be right, there are quite possibly people out there who would pay $30 for it if it was listed as some kind of error.
