You could say that it's THE coin that first got me into collecting! Unfortunately, back then as a young boy, I thought it would look nicer if all that tarnish was gone, so (to my shame now) I CLEANED IT. With a pencil eraser. several times. It has since retoned to some extent, but as you can see, the hairlines remain! Knowing now how uncommon it is to find nice problem-free barbers, I hate myself for it, but what's done is done. Please accept an Internet hug - "There, there now, it is not the end of the world." We ALL did stupid things in the past. Mine was cleaning coins with baking soda, a common practice way back when. I still have one of them too, a 1939 Queens visit to canada token passed down from my grandfather. Which I believe he said he got in 1939 at school.
