To end this confusion the 1992 Close AM is the rare coin? I've googled this until my fingers hurt.. I believe the Wide AM 92 is common p&d and close to be the rare and vice versa for 1993? Am I correct?

The 1992 Close AM is the rare one. As far as I know, all the 1993's are Close AM's, and no Wide AM 1993's exist.

Indeed searchers who view 1992 LMC hope to find the very rare CAM.

The 1992 WAM is indeed common ... and alas found on every such dated coin I have ever seen.

Dave has it correct. Even the proof cent is a close "AM".

Yes... 1992 CAM and there are the 1998, 1999, and 2000 WAM's...

There was "rumor" of a 1996 WAM but that is another story...
