Au50 Slight flatness due to wear on Lib's hair, right knee, (obv.), leading edge of wing and breast feathers (rev.), Some residual luster, clean rims and no other problems. I wish I was lucky enough to have a type 1 as nice as this!

AU-53, but worth a premium for eye appeal. This is an exceptionally nice example, one of the nicest AUs I have seen in a while.

I'm with Joseph7420 on this AU53 with No full head. A little too much ware for any higher, but lots a good luster. Very nice coin, I like!!

I can see a 55 for shear eye appeal, even if the wear indicates a lower grade. I'd pay 55 money for it all day long. Are you going to keep it in the slab? Or are you putting it in an album? This would look beautiful in a 7070.

I am going to leave this one in the slab.

I think they have over graded it. Compare PCGS photograde images for AU50 and AU55.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. PCGS graded it and CAC endorsed it, so...........

Yeah that endorsement seals the deal. I said AU53 but it can only be if that slab says so. Such a nice coin!

To be honest, I don't care if the slab said 50 or 55. I bought it for the eye appeal, and I paid 55 money for it. My point was that there were several expert graders that looked at this coin and agreed it is a 55.

Quote: I think they have over graded it. Compare PCGS photograde images for AU50 and AU55. yeah, however there are a bunch of characteristics which to judge a coin by, and the AU-50 they use is a 1916.
