Though personally I'm not a fan of the toning, I recognise the feeling!

People beat me too it. I'd also rather take a coin at a lower grade but without the black all over it.

"Exceptional" eye appeal would look to be debatable on this coin... honestly, don't think it deserves 67. Just my opinion.

That black toning I like. Looks like pepper was sprinkled on it. Were it solid, I would not like it. That is an exceptionally well struck coin with great luster. Certainly deserves its grade.

This is why I liked it...and want it. I'm not a huge fan of any toning, I like'm white, but some of these well struck high grade toners are starting to call my name.

I understand this sentiment...I used to, and in some ways still do, feel the same way. I've been spending a lot of time reading up on how they grade the Washingtons (an in general any MS coin). There's also a set of PCGS webinars availbel on Youtube named Coin grading 101 - 103. After watching this and learning more on their grading standards, I get why this was graded at MS-67. In PCGS's standards, eye appeal is the last thing they consider. The largest weight is given to surface preservation, and in their words, Surface preservation, the absence of nicks, dings, bag marks and the amount of luster left on the coin, "covers a multitude of sins".

Frank Cooper...same here!

I'm just realizing that there is no Beer mug smiley , we need to talk to forum operators about that.
