Grandfather found this coin 40 years ago while cleaning out an apartment that he used to rent out. My mom has had it since he passed away and couldn't ever figure out what it is. Hopefully you guys can help her out? Thanks

From the look of the bear it might be from Anhalt, one of the German States. One of the Swiss cantons also featured a bear on their coins, I think it was Bern. Looks like a 1 Kreuzer, don't see a date anywhere but the picture of the reverse is a little blurry.
The Bern coins do not seem to have a collar on the bear, so Anhalt is the number one suspect.

Found it!. Its St Gallen, another of the Swiss Cantons.
