chevrolet454ss Valued Member United States 314 Posts	Posted 07/21/2007 02:42 am I found this in large lot pennys I bought on ebay that unsearched from man that collected stuff when he little kids 30 to 40 years ago. Is this real or fake. It says 1944 on date . It dont stick to manget like the 1943 zinc pennys does. What is this penny ? I afraid to clean it . I dont know ifs an 75000 to 80000 penny . It looks like an 1943 zinc but is it? Was it an copper or shell casing coated with zinc in 1944. I did read they had an shortage of copper in that year. Under the stuff it looks like rust on top zinc. I dont have clue on what this is ?. Dale Report this Post to the Staff
