ramsis New Member Egypt 11 Posts	Posted 07/21/2007 2:23 pm Hi all, This is my first contribution to the forum. Let me introduce the first Egyptian pound which was issued in 1899. It was issued after Egypt's (financial and administrative) independence from the Ottoman Empire but it has been already occupied by the British since 1881. The pound carries the picture of two camels and therefore it is known as the two-camel note. It is very very very rare to find. Hence, its price ranges between 5000 $ and 10000 $ according to the condition of the note. Report this Post to the Staff
