Hi all, This is my first contribution to the forum. Let me introduce the first Egyptian pound which was issued in 1899. It was issued after Egypt's (financial and administrative) independence from the Ottoman Empire but it has been already occupied by the British since 1881. The pound carries the picture of two camels and therefore it is known as the two-camel note. It is very very very rare to find. Hence, its price ranges between 5000 $ and 10000 $ according to the condition of the note.
Hi and welcome ramsis Another Egyptian joined the forum
A very nice note, it's very rare indeed. I hope you have this note, as I heard that the last one was sold for 3,000,000 Egyptian pound around 526000 $US
Well I'm not into note collecting, I'm mainly interested in coin collecting so I was just trying to recall the number as much as I could remember from the newspaper.
