please help with identification (it might be difficult...), at least tell me please what kind of coin it is. It has a dimension of typical denarius but it is made of bronze. Some spots of lighter metal on the surface (silver?)
I can read the letters TRP on the reverse which almost certainly means it is Roman (Tribune of the People). It appears to be bronze and looks like the right size for a denarius (which of course should be silver). I believe what you have is a "limes" denarius which were emergency issues used to pay the troops on the frontier. The portrait looks to be Caracalla who was known to have issued these types.
the theory that it is a "limes coin" can be right. I found it in Poland hundreds miles from roman limes. I will clear it little bit more, but I'm affraid I'm gonna peel off the silver layer on the surface... Will see. thanks for help
