These will be a long-term winner, I would hang onto your sets unless you need cash. Right now the money has been diverted to First Spouse coins, but the 2006-P Reverse Proof and the Burnished 2006-W are the keys to the set (along with the 1995-W, of course). I say, stay the course!

I would recommend holding onto them for a while. The coins in them are key coins for assembling a complete set of Silver Eagles. I think that the prices will always stay high.

crashdawg,

When the summer is over and the kids are back in school and new school clothes paid for and the vacation is paid for, you will see the 20th Anniversary Set take off again. Not as energetic as in the past, but all of the new ASE collectors will be wanting to get the coins for their sets. So, my advice, lock em up and keep them. The set contains two of the best ASE coins you can buy. Giorgio11 was right on the money.. Good Luck with them.

In 4 years the mint will probably put out a 25th anniversary ASE, that should spark interest in the 20th anniversary set. I agree with everyone. Hold on to the set, they will most likely appreciate in value.
Rest in Peace

We're keeping ours with the belief the set will appreciate in value.

I would/did sell all but one of my sets (I still think that reverse proof is a thing of beauty) on the high. "20th Anniversary" is nothing more than a marketing ploy in my opinion. I am not aware of any other series, date, nor mint mark that has increased in rarity(demand exceeds supply based on mintages) based solely on it's 10th, 20th, 25th, 50th, or 100th anniversary. The "20th Anniversary" led the way down the slippery slope of "First Strike"..."Early Release"...Mass produced and marketed BULLION has not been known to have a HOR.

I am keeping mine for the reason I bought it - I collect them (ASE's). Can't think of a better reason for buying/keeping them.

I would hang on to them also. Especially what the reverse proofs are now selling for graded and seperated.
