I finally found a bust quarter that I liked, and was able to get for what I felt was a reasonable price on heritage! This is for my type set and is my first bust quarter! As you can tell I am a little bit excited about it. I've been looking for a coin with a modest amount of detail, at a not-too-outrageous price, and I think this one does the trick! That looks like a great example. Bust quarters in decent, problem-free shape are very difficult to find these days.

Nice Thundercoin! That's an awesome addition to your type set. And yes, I wish I had one like that.

This was one of the rare cases where I paid a fair amount over numismedia wholesale. The wholesale price was listed as $85, and I will be in for $116 including buyer's premium and shipping. I didn't think that was too bad. I was looking at a VF-25 about 6 weeks back on ebay, and I was willing to go $175 for that one and still couldn't get it, these things seem to be increasing in price pretty fast. I figured I'd better grab this one when I had the chance because it, (and a couple others in this heritage auction), were the first decent mid-grades I'd seen in several weeks.

when looking at bust coinage you can throw the price guides out the window because they are selling for so much more over list and the price guides can't keep up

Great looking CB25c. I think ANACS graded her on the conservative side...great skin.

Nice Bustie Thundercoin! That is almost the twin of one I purchased a couple months ago at a show for $120. It was attributed as a B-7 I believe though I am not familiar with Bust quarter attributions so it is largely irrelevant to me. Mine was raw and a solid choice fine with that lovely pewter gray original patina that yours has as well and that is getting to be so difficult to find on these quarters. Very nice type example
