Hello!

I was wondering was looking through some past threads, and noticed a bit of talk about members hinting at what countries you do not ship to. Right now I do not have any countries blocked, and was wondering which ones I should, if any.

Please tell us why you do not ship there as well.
Thanks!

It is totally your call, for me I ship to some western parts of Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and U.S.A. My reasons are certain countries either there postal service is terrible, or just high amounts of 'missing' postage and higher fraud rates. I have nothing against the countries not listed, it's just I've seen to many times issues with certain countries that cause me to stay away. Italy, Russia, China are my main avoidance for differing reasons along with many of the countries not listed.

Italy for general postal problems. Russia & China for a mix of the issues above.

However it's your call, and the right postal method will insure I guess.

I only ship within the United States (including Alaska, Hawaii, Territories, APO and FPO).

I used to ship Internationally but the incidents of INR, late deliveries, customs hang ups and chargebacks was just too cost prohibitive to continue. The biggest problem for US based Sellers shipping internationally is trying to ship items cost effectively with some type of delivery confirmation.

If you try to build in your true international shipping cost to the ebay widget you are selling, so you can offer "free shipping", you won't sell anything.

I may revisit it in the future but as of now, no thanks.

Due to antiquity laws I don't ship to Italy, Greece, Turkey, and Egypt.

Like mentioned the majority of scams will come from Africa and Asia. South America has their share to but in all honesty there's a lot of countries you don't want coins going through their postal system. Customs even to a "safe" country can kill you holding the product up to a month which of course results in a case being opened.

In my opinion if you aren't a major bulk seller international shipping creates more problems then in its worth for a few extra sales. If someone wants international shipping they can contact me and I decide yes or no on a case by case basis. Generally I never hear from them again after telling them what the shipping cost is.

Overall though my international experience hasn't been good. One item went to Canada and sat in customs for three weeks the other went to Australia where it was stolen when it left the US. Fortunately both buyers were understanding and didn't blame me for something out of my control, but if they had I would have been out a couple hundred dollars. Needless to say that was the end of my international selling.
