What luck for both PCGS and the owner of the 50,000,000 collectable authenticated/graded by Collector's Universe.

-The man's pretty lucky (if you ask me) because if he ever sells that coin, he'll get a hefty premium. Plus, he got a free 1 oz proof gold coin (first year of the U.S. bullion program) signed by the founder of PCGS.
-PCGS is lucky because they got a decent coin for their 50,000,000. It would be hi-flippin-larious if PCGS would've gotten a junk 2013 penny someone sent in as a joke.

Wish it could've been me, but whatever!

You really think that was the 50,000,000th coin? They handpicked which coin they wanted to highlight... the reality is most coins submitted to PCGS for grading are worth well under $1k. This wasn't number 50 million by chance, it was number 50 million by design.

No, it was the 50,000,000 collectible certified by Collector's Universe.

My point remains the same... they rigged it so a nice coin would be #50,000,000.

Over on the baseball card blog, the 50,000,000th is probably a Mike Trout rookie card.

Of course they did, makes business sense too. It was probably actually the 50,000,000 thing certified though, submissions came to a crawl until that was announced.
