I think that I found a Machine Doubled penny. I would love to have your opinions on it and wonder if it is of any value. One of the characters of this coin is that there are "striations" that look like stretch marks on the east and west edges of the Obverse pointing inward toward the center of the coin. I don't believe that the images really do it justice.
Your images are too small for me to render a reasonable opinion. I see NO doubling. As for the striations I don't know whether they are from a polished die, a cleaned coin or ?
Oh, and it's a CENT, not a penny (look at the reverse).
coop - Thank you! This would make sense as there is a similar effect on the west side with the lines appearing on that side instead. I guess that the "striations" may be do to some sort of lamination error.
