Just ordered 3 of the $50/4/$50 coins. The picture is quite nice, 34mm dia, 1/2 ounce silver coin, limited to 100,000 mintage, with maximum per person of 3. (even through my rep)

I will post an image, once it has gone public, but for now, I can only say - I like it! A polar bear leaping from one ice floe to the next... image by artist: Emily Damstra

I would just advise caution. Remember, these are going to be next to impossible to spend, or even break even on. And it also represents a price increase by the mint, now charging us $100/oz for silver, when the Oh Canada Half Ounce coins were $40.

I ordered one - like the design.
Looks more interesting, than last year $10 Polar Bear.
And much better than $100for$100 Grizzly.
Do not have a target now to collect them all (if will be) as series.

Looks like the coin comes with the card, same as "$20for$20"

Good job with the picture jpaiva83! made me laugh.
Anjohl, could we not get into the rhetoric about "is it worth it" please (respectfully) It's been done to death on the 20/4/20 and 100/4/100 we all know your opinion. These are nice coins, Not terribly expensive, with the ability to purchase at face value. Period. I will take one for my collection, and will give two away as gifts, and I'm sure the receivers will be as thrilled as I am.

Seems like a high price for a half ounce. I like the design though

Dcadon, I don't have an opinion on the coins, I am expressing fact, as I have demonstrated many times.

I like the design, disappointed in the packaging seeing as how the 1/2 subs sell for 40 and come with a clamshell. But I can see why they would do that as the RCM still technically owe you $50 for the coin if you chose to trade it in that is.

My problem is that I can't afford $50 or $100

I think it was a mistake to expand this series up, rather than down. Sure, the Mint makes more money with a higher face value, but I really would have liked to see a series of $10 or even $5 coins, not necessarily containing silver. Quite a few countries do this (the one that springs to mind first is Slovenia and their bimetallic 3-euro coins, but many European countries have 5-euro coins as well) and it's pretty fun!

Have the $20 for $20 and the $100 for $100 might as well grab a $50 for $50, I like the series. I think I'll pick mine up Easter weekend when I go to Ottawa to visit the grand kids

I have another $150 to go before I'm eligible for the MC so I'll probably get one then. I wonder if there will be a subscription available ?
