.....or, at least it seems that way sometimes. I think they bungled it this time. Anybody else recently notice that alot of sellers haven't specified a return policy? IMO, it's because ebay has made it too confusing to list an item. Just happened to me. I 'thought' I had a return policy, but when I looked at my own listing after my item sold, I didn't. Maybe not the worst thing in the world for buyers because of ebay buyer protection.

I noticed they changed the methodology in creating new listings and have the large photos automatically reduced to 25k and no enlargement feature. In January their new listing format worked fine and accepted large photos for viewing. When I listed some items in March the photos were reduced automatically. Another eBayer told me that they want you to select the enlargement feature that is currently free but not free on relisting if item doesn't sell. Hmmmmm. I went back to the old way from some templets I saved. Works fine.

I just did a few listings yesterday and a bunch of relistings and the ones I checked all seem to have the magnification option on the pictures.

They want everyone to have a return policy, soon the 14 days will become 30 days return. You might as well have a return policy, if you have "no returns" as your policy when you do the listing, below is what shows up on your listing...and the default is ebay policy trumps your "no return policy". Returns: Seller did not specify a returns policy. You are covered by the ebay Money Back Guarantee if you received an item that is not as described in the listing. From Nov 1st it will be 90 day returns (if you want to keep your 20@TRS fee discount)It is for the holidays Nov 1 to Jan 31. Of course its descending, 90 days from nov1, 60 days from dec1, ect ect. You need to use the advanced listing form for "mouse over images" to enlarge. The basic or quick listing loader stopped enlarging photos for me around Feb4th.

I doubt that 90 day window will be back in the future. Pickings will be slim in November and December for new listings and a lot of stores will probably go on vacation setting. Either that or just no returns with a 20 percent higher price. 90 days is a complete joke.
The weird part though is even if you offer returns you don't have to accept them by their own policy making the 90 days a bigger joke

Quote: I noticed they changed the methodology in creating new listings and have the large photos automatically reduced to 25k and no enlargement feature. I found that too, but there is an easy work around, my images stopped showing the mouse over to zoom, or the photos never really enlarged. You must use the advanced seller listing. DO NOT USE the quick listing tool, that is where the issue lies in the image problems. Found this after some browsing through the ebay sellers message boards. Also you can't use a mobile device for posting photos that will be full size. This is bound to change again, knowing ebay.

If it tilts to far to the buyers ... the sellers just raise the prices ... or quietly go silent.

Yeah, who really needs a return policy anyway? Isn't everything on ebay returnable anyway, no matter what. At least that's the way I read it, especially when I'm the buyer
