1799 US Coin - Would Love Information

Goods New Member Japan 11 Posts	Posted 04/02/2014 9:26 pm Hi Everyone, I have come across a largish american coin from 1799 with a profile of Lady Liberty on the one side and an eagle on the other. I'm clueless, I am also in Japan. Can anyone give me any other information about this coin? It does seem to be rather rare! However, I did look it up and it seems to be a liberty coin! Or I also see being called a draped bust silver dollar! I'll try find a picture... About 98% of the people on here starting new posts about a silver dollar from the 1700's that they have are counterfeits. ESPECIALLY if they are in another country. So I wouldn't get excited just yet. I think the date looks off on yours as well as some of the lettering but the pictures aren't very good and I don't know much about these.
