I got nine two-dollar bills at my credit union Saturday, all they had. There's a 2003A, one 1995, and two 1976 series, all of them creased -- one of the 1976 ones is really wrinkled.
But -- there are five 2003 series that have consecutive serial numbers. Those are the ones I'm going to keep, I think, just because of the numbers. They are also in excellent shape -- not quite as crisp as brand-new bills, but I see no folds.
As far as I can tell, the series changes when the signatures change, but otherwise the design of the bill hasn't changed in 30 years. Are the two-dollar bills ever going to get a face-lift like the other denominations?
It's rather appalling how little I know about currency. Is there a decent web site I could consult to learn more?
