any thoughts about what the date on this coin migh be?

Somewhere in the 1920 to 1924 range.
After that the dies were altered to have a recessed date because the dates were wearing out too fast.

BTW I can't tell from your image but are you sure it's 192-something?

If it is indeed a 192X, then your only possibilities are 1920, 1923, or 1924.
