Hello. I found a 1977 (d, I think) Lincoln Cent in my "pocket change". It looks to me like it could be a clip? I am still learning and have never seen nor do I know anything about this. Your help would be fantastic! Thank you.

Yes it is, when a misfeed occurs where the leftover metal is not fed through the machine far enough. So when it punches the overlapped part it leaves the hole.

Nice! I got in a big argument with my friends because they said some one cut it. I have no idea so I decided to ask the experts. Is this rare? Worth more than one cent? Thanks.

I see some Blakesley effect on the opposite rim, looks good to me as well. Very nice find! Congrats. They usually go for a buck or two on ebay, but you never know if you get two people that want the same coin.

you can look on ebay for a good estimate but from $2-5 dollars would be my guess. I think that 1970-s you used in picture is the large date variety check it versus this thread or take a close up of the date and mint mark.
