This has probably Bern asked hundreds of times but buying bullion online seems to be my only option. I am new to it and mostly interested in silver. What's the best website with close to spot prices and reasonable shipping?

Btw, saw some fairly priced coins on this forum but apparently cannot buy due to not having 50 posts!

For US buyers Provident and APMEX are the most reputable, have the best prices and most selection. MCM is also good but I personally have not had a good experience with them and they deal a lot more in graded bullion. For Canadian buyers SilverGoldBull or CacheMetals are your best bet. Do a search on the forum, you will a number on topics about this stuff.

Depends on what you want to collect? You can go with popular PM buying sites with good reps for bullion, and there are quite a few to be found with minimal effort on your part with a quick search of the forum. You can even shop the US Mint website for certain types of PMs. Since I mostly collect slightly older world proofs, I find better prices on ebay auctions, myself.

I use this 1 http://www.jmbullion.com/
Free shipping, takes credit cards though you pay a premium
Pretty good prices even for 4 or 5 units

There's a website that lists side by side the top PM players in the USA and who sells the cheapest type of round - so a list for ASE, generic, etc. You can probably find it with a quick search engine query.

I've done a bit of looking on ebay. It seems to be the best place to buy coins with low shipping costs.

Ive used Modern Coin Mart on ebay with good luck. I just saw today they have a roll of ASEs for 475, free shipping, no CC upcharge.

If it's more than a small amount of $, I'd only do business with the big coin shops on ebay, just my 3 cents.

Yes ebay is becoming hard to buy on with all the counterfit coins/bars lately.
The only time I buy there now is for some of the smaller mints silver loafs.

I'd vouch for Modern Coin Mart, as well. Excellent outfit.

I looked at Modern Coin Mart's prices a few weeks ago, they are expensive,

Example 20 1oz sunshine mint rounds
Modern Coin Mart's price $477.08 free shipping
JMBullion price $423.40 free shipping
JMBullion with CC $440.04 free shipping

Thats 2 extra ounces

Im sure Modern Coin Mart are good to deal with and they have a very good selection but huge price difference

My only experience with JMBuliion was last Monday.. I ordered a bunch of "in stock" ASE for what appeared to be a good deal. I still have not received a shipping confirmation.. it just says payment confirmed- you will receive shipping tracking when order is fulfilled. I inquired on Friday and they said they had "heavy traffic" (maybe it was a good deal?) last week and were catching up on shipping.... hmmmmmmmm.. anyone else have this experience?

This is from their website.. I assume the posted time range is to point complaints to.

Order fulfillment times range from a day to a maximum of a month, in addition to any posted delays, although the majority of our orders ship out within two days of approved payment. From there, the delivery time will vary depending on your selected shipping method. To inquire about the availability and shipping dates for specific products, please contact us.

hmmmm.. I placed an "in stock" order with JMBullion on 4/2/2014 and it still has not shipped. I enjoy the free shipping but if it takes much longer for them to ship it then I will probably not be purchasing from them again.
