G'day!
I've seen these on an auction, and I jst got curious if they are authentic of fakes. Since I don't know so much about the Chinese ancient coins (but are very curious about them) makes it very hard for me to decide what's real or not.

Here's a Picture of its obverse and reverse

If they are real, or at least some of them, what would they be worth?

Thanks in advance!

By the way, the smallest one weighs 2gr. and is 2.7x1.3 cm and the biggest weighs 12 gr. and is 5.3x2 cm.
The total weight is 76 grams (the scales has no decimals).

Assuming these are real, they are from the Wang Mang period of China, 7-23 AD. The weights do not matter at all because there was SO MUCH variation in the quality of the coins; very low-ball quality control, but not as bad as some other periods . All of these varieties are very scarce, some worth in the $500 range, according to David Hartill. However, I do not like the mushy details in the characters and the patination rings off alarm bells. I have seen many, many fake ancient Chinese coins, spades and knives, and I believe that these are fake too. I could be wrong, but that is my opinion. A complete set with no duplicates, in very nice condition, and the same patination is very, very highly suspicious and screams fake. I hope you didn't pay too much for them. If you did pay a lot of money, get a definite answer and maybe try to return them and get your money back. I hope this was helpful.

Check out http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Tool...7761204.html

The patination on the set shown isn't similar to your set, but I'd imagine it varies from set to set and it could probably be altered.

Sorry to say it, but I think Aliexpress (or at least somebody who bought this set from them) has struck again.

I haven't bought them, but I was curious about them and I've been searching for these coins to a reasonal price. I found it suspicious as well since there were so many for just $15 (buy now $48) but I am Always suspisious about these ones.

Thank you guys for your input and links. I have learned a lot and I will not Contact the seller to see what he says.

Cheers!

Those are all fakes.
I bought a lot like that from China for $2 a piece (knowing they were fakes) and made them into fun key chains.

Items like that are nice to make jewlery out of if the price is right. Of course pending the material. Since those could turn someone's skin a rather odd looking.

If all are correct, I would be curious how high they go at auction. So many people do not do due diligence, but just bid high.
