I have no experience with these varieties but I think it looks like a minor die chip. Don't take my word for it though cause with these coins I'm:-P

Its hard because with this variety the D mintmark punched almost directly on top of an S mintmark. You can see the parts of S on the left and underneath the d.

Note the arrows in the coppercoins image. The arrow to the lower right side is a match. Location is correct as well.
