It sounds sorta like a token- a metal disc used as a counter...found at Jamestown.

Jeton definition: Jetons were a token or coin-like medal produced across Europe during the 16th and 17th centuries. They were produced for the purpose of acting as a money substitute in games, similar to modern casino chips or poker chips. There were also German counters--(spiel marke) some of which imitated $1, $2.50, $5 $10, $20 gold American gold pieces.
