then I got some verdi-care to treat my julian ii coin, so I thought i'd give this one a go again. stripped off the wax and re-scrubbed and picked, soaked in verdi-care, let dry ...here it is now.

The second one isn't Caracalla. It's Diadumenian

http://www.diadumenian.com/marcianopolis1.html

Hope that helps.

Ob. Leg. M OPELLIOC ANTWNEINOC
Ob. Desc. Bare headed and draped bust right - " seen from behind
Meaning Marcus Opellius Antonius
Rev. Leg. MARKIANOPOLEI / TWN
Rev. Desc. Lion walking left
Meaning (Coin) of the people of Markianopolis - "
References; MAR1.12; Hristova/Jekov 6.25.53.1 (r.6); Varbanov (Eng.) Vol.1. No. 1349

This is the "blurb" for it. the TWN is what's under the lion - though translate the W to an Omega in the Greek.

If you intend to collect coins from Marcianopolis I highly recommend the Hristova/Jekov book.
