Spotted this threepence on ebay (Australia).Item 181380736701. So has the seller made an honest mistake or has he scratched off the mint mark?

Looks like the MM has been removed very badly. Appears the seller only bought it early this month. Item #151270690415 but the original seller has supposedly re-listed it 161268513792. I think they are all the same coin, despite the angle the pictures been taken at. What a mess!

They are 2 different coins, the one you spotted has do brown spots above AL.
Caveat Emptor really applies to ebay.
There is a far bigger mess with a coin up for auction on IAG. I'll be making a few posts about that particular 1920 penny as it concerns a PCGS slab.
