At our local coin show this past weekend I picked up 2 more 1944 Henning nickels. Both coins were not put out for sale but were pulled out and handed to me when the dealers saw me. I also picked one up at another local show the weekend before. This one was in the dealer's case. But it does help to buy these when you ask around allot to all the dealers at every show you go to. If you bug them enough they remember and put them aside for you.

Wow that's awesome. Was just reading an old thread about Hennings on here and kept seeing your name. I'll be lucky to own one some day.

52Raymo, I'll have to pull them out and count again but it should be between 60 & 70. That is still not the most I know of. A dealer I know has been advertising to buy them for several years now in Coin World and 2 weeks ago he gave me his container of Hennings. He told me to take them home and study them then send them back. He didn't even know how many he had. I counted 77 Hennings in his group. I have them now but will be sending them back this week.

I am going to start doing that. However, I could use your advice on what I should expect them to cost. I couldn't find any recent info. when I searched.

Prices vary. I have seen dealers charge anywhere from $20 to $75. Typically I have seen them range lately between $30 and $50.

Thanks a lot for the info. All I could find was that in 2007 they were $25-40 and I figured there was no chance that was still true. Anyway, I think I'd like to have a nice one (if I can find it in IL) and maybe a few cheaper ones for my sisters' kids. Thanks again for your prompt answer.

52Raymo, all I see with the 1941 nickel from ebay is a normal circulated coin. Whoever bought this is going to be disappointed.
