I decided to play with my new setup a tad, and I will show you what I found digging around in a single 1968-S roll.

All of these are individual RPM's.

They look pretty normal to me.

The first punching on these coins were definitely light, and the 2nd punch was far better. First attempt looks like the person just tapped it lightly, sort of what you do when lining up a nail and a hammer to make sure your not going to miss. Anyway here are 3 of 9 randomly selected.

The second image show the same doubling at the top of the device that is the same as the top of the mint mark. The other two images don't show that same Machine Doubling.

I see the second image as simply a dent in the 6 and the 8, it could have come from anything.

The 2nd image, which I see now, also has a King Kong Kitty Cat hair that runs across the "8" SW to NE, from the rim to the point of the "6". I can see Machine Doubling if the top struck "S" Primary "S" shows clipping, which it does not. The coin has split upper serifs, an easily recognizable stacked split between the two punches and the back serif ball slightly west of the primary punch.

Again, I looked at the primary punched mint mark on all and none show signs of MD. What I have not done yet is look to see if I can find common markers between all nine. I could have a few different varieties here.

For now, I'll put them away. I want to keep plugging that this 1963-D bag, and see if anything comes out of it.
