The link is an 11 year old listing, but certainly unusual!

And the page says "5 internet/mail bidders"--that's quite a frenzied bidding war!

Lately I have notice very little actions on both HA.com and Stack's Sunday night auctions. Just this week I picked up two $2.50 MS60 and AU58 for 530 including BP. Also 1917type 1 MS62FH and 1927MS61 standing liberty 25c for under 350. I don't know about the upper-end coins but in my price range, these are just bargains.

I bet the seller was pretty upset for a few weeks after that!

I checked numismedia and this is a $1,100 coin! It amazes me sometimes how some people get these great deals on coins and the rest of us have to pay retail!

CoinCollector2012, you just made me shed tears.
That's the price of a third of my collection.

I even checked the Prices Realized for that sale it too lists a sold price of $5.00! Wow, I would be inclined to think this was a typo error, it should've been $500.00.
