1994D.. gigantic obv die crack?

This one has me stumped a little.. it runs all the way across in a straight but curved line.. I've looked with my loupe my scope and it doesn't look like a scratch. it is raised I can see it when up on its side.. the scope doesn't give much of a depth perception on it sadly..

either way it doesn't look PMD and I see copper where its raised and no zinc exposed just some light gunk in a few places around the crack making it look funny..

That looks like a scratch to me, but I am not an expert on the subject.

i agree I looked and looked and looked.. but I dont see any zinc and its raised copper edge.. hard to tell looking down on it. tilted on an angle with the loop you can see the copper sticking up on it.. but I thought the same I'm no expert either just going by what I see.. I prolly looked at it for an hour turning every which way in the light and cant come up with a different conclusion

If it were on the die, the rim wouldn't show the line. It goes across the hold surface.

The 96 looks like a scratch it goes up onto the rim on both sides. IMO

A small cut will raise the surface on each side of the cut. The harder you press, the zinc starts to show.

on the zinc showing I could see that for sure.

but wouldnt the scratch not be raised? unless its so tiny of a scratch it rolled copper up on both sides of it.. but best I can tell I dont see a valley in the middle but more of a ridge...

got a feeling I'm gonna be here a while starring at this one.. sigh .lol

Note on my image the cut into the rim? I see that on the left side on your coin through the rim area.
