I was going through some old coins I found the other day and found this coin. I was wondering if there was anything I could do for it. I can barley read the date but I think it says 1925. Should I clean it or not.

Doesn't seem worth the effort.

Welcome.
Is there a mint mark on the reverse under "five cents"? (D or S)
1925 D is a better date.
I don't think cleaning can save this old buffalo, but still a pretty cool old coin.

Larger more clear images would help.

This forum provides great guidance on coin photography.

to CCF.I don't think you can save this buff but you can experiment on it.Search coin cleaning in the upper left of page, here is a start from CCF member BadThad Keep in mind, you say "clean some bad off coins", acetone is a pretty weak solvent. If you post some pictures of the coins, it would be easier to suggest a process before you potentially waste your time and acetone. In general, I always recommend following the polarity ladder:

1) distilled or deionized water
2) acetone
3) xylene

Some of the compounds of both nickel as well as copper, are green.

They are all INorganic and will not respond to removal with th application of an organic solvent.

Do NOT use mechanical means to remove the green; that will risk damaging it even further.

'Do nothing' is the easiest and best option in this case, unfortunately.

Accurate pictures will help. Was it posted as a negative image as the buffalo and Indian are facing in the wrong directions?

Based on what I see so far this coin (or token or whatever) needs to be put out of its misery.

Give it a quick 10 minute soak in acetone.
Then some better pics would be helpful:)
