Great start! I love the gold incuse indians....and have been collecting them for years. Have you thought about putting a set together? I have a nearly complete indian half eagle set(minus the 2 big keys).....it was a joy to put together. I have them now in a DANSCO album. The quarter eagle set is much easier to complete, as even the big key, the 11-d; is very available. I would sell one of your 1912 half eagles and put it towards building a set of either quarters or halves(the indian half eagles are a real challenge with the 1909-O and 1929 looming out there, difficult to find without dipping into 5 figures on either coin.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I am glad so many enjoy these kinds of coins. I am sure I will branch out but for now this is my focus.

Johnny54321- The thought did cross my mind. Right now going for a set would drive me nuts, especially missing the key dates. I am obsessive so if I dive in, I will want to dive in hard. My main hobby has always been custom knives and I have a site dedicated to it. Jonbrandcollection.com -I added an "American Coin" section to it with my gold coin collection. But the point is, with my knife hobby it is hard to fully invest in coins. I spend thousands on knives and am not sure I am ready to spend that kind of money on coins. But this is the beginning and I am almost certain it will happen eventually.

I would absolutely love to see photos of your set, or just some of the coins. Do you go for certain grades or are you more focused on just filling the set?

Jon Brand....Here are the photos that you requested of my $5 Indian Collection in DANSCO. I mostly stick around the AU grade, but I am not afraid of a high XF or problem example that looks decent....since I buy most certified(to make sure they are genuine), but then crack them for the DANSCO; I usually avoid higher value MS coins, because it represents too much money on the line to crack them out for the set. The most expensive crackout for this set was an AU-58 1910-s...I had that in a slab for a while before giving in and cracking it out. I just prefer the look of these coins in an album.

That's a wonderful set. It really makes more sense then to collect randomly as I do. Today I purchased a 1926 quarter in MS63 with a CAC green sticker. I am quite excited.I'll post a thread with photos next week when I receive it.

Congrats on your set being almost complete.
